How to install Data Loss Prevention Endpoint for Windows using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

NOTE: We assume that the system administrators have knowledge about SCCM and have used SCCM to install software. This article doesn't provide the detailed information about installing DLP Endpoint using SCCM.

Microsoft SCCM provides a comprehensive solution to deploy and manage applications and operating systems on Windows desktops and servers.

Create the SCCM DLP Endpoint installation package:
To create and distribute the SCCM package for DLP Endpoint deployment, do the following:

  1. Open the Systems Center Configuration Manager console.
  2. Select Software Library.
  3. Right-click Packages and select Create Package.
  4. Type the Package Name, Version, Manufacturer, and Language (optional).
  5. Select This Package Contains Source Files, and then click Browse.
  6. In the Source Directory window:
    1. Select the type of connection to the setup files for the source directory.
    2. Type the Source Directory location.
    3. Click OK, and then click Next.

    NOTE: If the choice of SCCM application permits the .exe

    file type, the file copied from the ePO-installed directory can be used without any further action. Otherwise, extract the .exe

    file to obtain the .msi

    1. Select the DLP Package and click Deploy.
    2. Click Browse on Collection, select your Collection, and then click Next.
    3. Click Add, select your Distribution Point, and then click Next.
    4. On Purpose, select Required, and then click Next.
    5. On Scheduling, select your schedule, and then click Next.
    6. Click Summary, Next, Close.
